Where Do We Go on the Sunset Cruise in Southport and Oak Island?

One of the most common questions we get is: where exactly does the sunset cruise go? The answer is—every cruise is a little different.

Our route depends on a few key factors like wind direction, tide, and even the time of year. As the seasons change, the sun actually sets in slightly different positions—further north in the summer and more to the south in the spring and fall. Because of this, we adjust our course each evening to make sure you get the absolute best view of the sunset over the water.

Some nights we may cruise along the Intracoastal Waterway, weaving through peaceful creeks and marshes glowing in golden light. Other evenings, we might head out toward the Cape Fear River or near the inlet, where wide open views create the perfect backdrop as the sun melts into the horizon.

No matter the route, the goal is always the same—put you in the best seat in the house for a breathtaking coastal sunset.

Picture this: a warm breeze, calm water, your favorite drink in hand, and the sky lighting up in shades of orange, pink, and gold. Whether you’re with family, friends, or celebrating something special, it’s one of those moments that just feels easy and unforgettable.

Every sunset cruise is relaxed, scenic, and a little bit magical. And because no two sunsets—or routes—are ever the same, it’s an experience you can come back to again and again.
